Spectrum: Indica
Family: Kush / Cake
About: Chicago Kush Cake is our in house phenotype of L.A. Kush Cake, bred by Seed Junky Genetics. We struck gold with this phenotype. She is our heaviest in house Indica strain. Heavy couchlock and sedation are prominent effects with CKC. Combine that with delectable dessert terpenes paired with that classic Kush flavor we love. CKC has continued to grow in popularity since her debut, and among our most coveted strains.
Grow Characteristics: CKC is truly a connoisseurs strain. She takes a long time in veg and in flower. We don't like to harvest her before 75 days, and have taken her up to around 92 days in flower. She is a very short plant, and that does not change when she gets flipped into flower mode. That stoutness translates into a lack of internodal spacing, producing big fat spear shaped colas that tend to envelope the top of every branch. We have found that the length of time it takes her to veg and flower, coupled with the fact that you need to maintain a very well controlled environment to prevent the large colas it produces from growing mold, presents challenges for growers. We aim to carry on the characteristics we love so much about CKC into future genetics, while eliminating some of it's challenges. We find that Indicas that hit as hard as CKC are very rare, and because of that, the juice is worth the squeeze.
